Afterwards, you can download your tickets/vouchers directly and go straight to the entrance on the day of your visit.
Ticket booths at the Tierpark´s Bärenschaufenster entrance are open. However, online tickets are cheaper and also highly recommended to reduce waiting times at the entrances. You can easily make your booking online without creating a user account.

Online tickets, tickets purchased in advance (e.g. from BVG ticket machines) and complimentary tickets can be presented at the ticket booths by the entrances (clearly marked) and allow immediate admission. Advance online registration is not possible.
The discounted day tickets for annual pass holders and tickets at the regular concession rates are available online. Online tickets save you a lot of time and allow you to skip on-site queues. Booking can also be done easily without having to create a user account and you have the opportunity to save money if you book early.
Any other discounts can only be redeemed at our ticket booths at the Tierpark´s Bärenschaufenster entrance (upon presentation or, if necessary, submission of the relevant proof of eligibility – please note the details for redeeming the relevant discount and possibly also present a photo ID). An online registration is not necessary for this. Please note, that discounted tickets can only be purchased for immediate admission (not in presale).
Admission to the Tierpark is free for children under the age of four. Please book a free online ticket in advance for every child aged zero to three years.
No. You may arrive at any time during your booked time slot.
The booked time slots only represent the admission time. Therefore, the stay in Tierpark Berlin is not limited (within the regular opening hours).
The chosen time slot is binding and cannot be changed after the purchase has been made. Purchased tickets are non-refundable.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to leave the Tierpark and then come back multiple times during the day. Day tickets are only valid for one admission.
In general, day tickets can also be booked for the same day. If there are no tickets available, they are already sold out.
One assistant may accompany a visitor with a severe disability free of charge (category H or B; proof of eligibility must be presented at the entrance).
Disabled persons with a disability rating of GdB 50+ receive reduced admission (upon presentation of proof of disabled status). You can find tickets for both categories in our online shop. Booking your tickets online will save you a lot of time and allow you to avoid the queues at the ticket booths. You can easily book online without creating a user account. You also have the opportunity to save money online if you book early.
Booked day tickets cannot be canceled or rebooked. Revocation is not possible either.
You do not need to print out your online tickets. The QR codes can be scanned from your smartphone or tablet. Please just ensure you have your online ticket open when you reach the gates and that your screen is as bright as possible.
Group tickets are available online. Online tickets save you a lot of time and allow you to skip on-site queues. Booking can also be done easily without having to create a user account. You also have the opportunity to save money online if you book early.
Please note: Different rates apply for schools and nurseries. You can find more information here.
Vouchers can be redeemed at all three facilities – Zoo, Aquarium and Tierpark Berlin. But please be aware that prices may differ from the actual value of your voucher.
Vouchers can easily be redeemed online. Start by selecting the desired number of day tickets and/or annual passes in the respective online shop (https://shop.zoo-berlin.de/en, https://shop.aquarium-berlin.de/en, or https://shop.tierpark-berlin.de/en). When you go to your shopping basket, you will have the option to apply a voucher code.
With the "Berechtigungsnachweis" (BN), visitors receive the concessions ticket price. The proof will be checked at the entrance - please have it ready together with a photo ID.
As an alternative to the BN, you can also present your benefit certificate or the "VBB-Kundenkarte Berlin S".
At Tierpark Berlin, you will receive an additional discount from Monday to Friday (except weekends and public holidays). The special rate for BN holders during the week is only available at the ticket booths at the Tierpark´s Bärenschaufenster entrance (upon presentation of the relevant proof). Online registration is not necessary. Please note that these tickets can only be purchased for immediate admission (i.e. not in advance).
Refugees receive the concessions ticket price. For this, the "Berechtigungsnachweis" (BN, former berlinpass) must be presented. The reduced tickets are available online. The rule applies exclusively to refugees themselves. To accompanying people, the regular prices apply - online tickets are cheaper than at the ticket booths on site.
Holders of press passes receive free admission to Tierpark Berlin on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for research purposes. Free admission is not available on weekends and public holidays. Please report to the ticket booths at the Tierpark´s Bärenschaufenster entrance. Upon presenting your press pass (potentially in combination with a photo ID), you will need to complete a registration form that includes information about the respective media outlet and the purpose of your research. Online registration in advance is not required. Exceptions require approval. Please contact presse@
tierpark-berlin.de for this.
Employees of other zoos receive free admission to Tierpark Berlin. Please register at the ticket booths at the Tierpark´s Bärenschaufenster entrance. Annual passes & vouchers
From typical vouchers with individual values, ticket or annual pass vouchers- we offer several different types of gift ideas.
Annual pass holders can visit Tierpark Berlin 365 days a year – and save money from the fourth visit! What’s more, a Tierpark annual pass gives holders a 50 percent discount on tickets to Zoo and Aquarium Berlin (and vice versa) and a 10 percent discount in the Tierpark’s restaurants and shops.
Tip: If you decide to purchase an annual pass during your visit to the Tierpark, you receive a 20% discount on your annual pass at the ticket booths at the Tierpark´s Bärenschaufenster entrance. An overview of the opening times can be found here.
An annual pass subscription is cheaper than a regular one and is automatically renewed yearly. At the end of the minimum contract period of 24 months, the annual pass subscription can be cancelled with a notice period of four weeks.
Yes, the dinosaur exhibition can also be visited with an annual pass of the Tierpark. Annual pass holders receive the magazine for a discounted price of €2.50 upon presentation of their pass in the Tierpark shops.
You can buy annual passes online. Simply fill out the required information at your leisure at home, then come by to pick up your pass.
Please note: All pass holders must be present in person for the issuing of their annual pass.
It is only possible to buy an annual pass subscription online. We already offer our regular annual passes at a relatively affordable rate. Our annual pass subscriptions are additionally discounted.
Please note: All pass holders must be present in person for the issuing of their annual pass.
For those "undecided" who have initially opted for a day pass, we offer to offset the day pass price against the purchase of an annual pass. This takes the form of a fixed discount amount, which is credited when the annual pass is purchased. The discount is 20%, regardless of the day pass category. All you have to do is go to the annual pass ticket booths at the Tierpark´s Bärenschaufenster entrance and present your day ticket.
Please note: The discount can only be applied on the day of your visit and only during our admission times. Subsequent offsetting is not possible, as otherwise we would simply not be able to afford the (comparatively) low prices of our annual passes.
The discounted day tickets for annual pass holders are available online. Online tickets save you a lot of time and allow you to skip on-site queues. Booking can also be done easily without having to create a user account and is cheaper than at the ticket booths on site.
No. Annual pass holders do not need to register in advance. However, due to capacity, time slots must be booked for Aquarium Berlin.
No, a time slot does not have to be booked. If possible, please book your annual pass(es) online. Simply fill out the required information at your leisure at home, then come by to pick up your pass. Afterwards, you can visit Tierpark Berlin directly.
You can check the validity of your annual pass right here. After putting in the data, you will receive all information and also have the option to extend your annual pass right away. By doing this, you can save so much time, which would normally be spent writing emails or going to the annual pass ticket booth.
In principle, our annual passes' terms and the scope of validity are binding. However, we are happy to make an exception if you decide to upgrade to a higher-value annual pass (e.g. single pass to a combined and/or family pass) - however, this is only possible on site. Therefore, please contact the annual pass ticket booths at the Tierpark´s Bärenschaufenster entrance within the admission times for annual pass extensions.
Please note: Since new annual passes must be issued, all annual pass holders must be present in person for the extension.
You can easily do this from the comfort of your home. Just put in your data and you will receive information on your annual pass, including the period of validity. Here you also have the option to renew your annual pass. Before you do this, please make sure to read the paragraph titled „important“, which is located directly under the form for your data. After renewing your annual pass, there is nothing else you need to do. Your chip card can now be used for a further year. When renewing your card online, you can save time by fully avoiding the long lines in front of the annual pass ticket booths at Tierpark Berlin.
A parent or legal guardian must always be present when a child's annual pass is issued and be able to present appropriate proof of family status (e.g. birth certificate, notification of child benefit, adoption papers).
Alternatively, the children's annual pass can also be issued in the presence of another adult person if a power of attorney from at least one parent with parental authority can be presented together with a copy of the ID and proof of family status. The power of attorney must contain the respective child's name, date of birth, and address. Proof of guardianship, adoption, or foster care (issued by an official authority and personalised) is also accepted.
Of course, we also offer our family annual passes for patchwork families. The only important thing is that all persons live in a common household (with a common address) and that a corresponding proof of family status can be presented for each child (e.g. birth certificate, child benefit notice, adoption papers). If one parent does not live in a common household with their own children, this parent must be registered on the birth certificate or be able to present an official acknowledgment of paternity. In the case of foster children, the respective youth welfare office certificates are required.
Our family annual passes are only available for parents and their (own) children. If we were to include other family members, we would not be able to offer our annual passes at the same (relatively) affordable rates.
Annual passes are personalised and non-transferable. A photograph of the pass holder is printed on every annual pass. You may be asked to present your annual pass in combination with a valid form of ID.
Please note: In accordance with our General Terms and Conditions, annual pass holders are liable for loss and/or attempted fraud in connection with their annual pass. In the event of loss, we offer the option of blocking the card and issuing a new one for a processing fee as a gesture of goodwill. However, this procedure is not possible if a fraud attempt has been made with the card in question before the loss is reported. In such a case, the card will be confiscated and blocked immediately.
For safety reasons, we cannot allow admission with just a photo of your annual pass. We do have plans to digitalize our annual passes. Until then, the physical annual pass must be shown upon arrival.
You do not need to bring a photograph with you when picking up your annual pass. This can simply be uploaded online in advance. However, all pass holders must be present at the on-site sales points for the issuing of annual passes.
If you lose your annual pass, you can purchase a replacement at the annual pass ticket booth at the Tierpark´s Entrance Bärenschaufenster for a fee of € 20.
By our General Terms and Conditions, permanent and annual pass holders are liable for loss and/or attempted fraud in connection with their permanent or annual pass.
Should an attempt of fraud have been made with the respective pass even before the loss has been reported, the confiscated and blocked pass can only be unblocked and handed over again for a fee.
Specifically, the following rules apply:
- Single annual passes (for adults, children, or concessions): Pass must be purchased again
- Family annual passes: 50 € per affected single pass
- Annual pass subscriptions and permanent passes: 50 € per individual pass affected.
Please contact the annual pass ticket booth on-site during the admission times.
Please note: Annual passes can only be handed over to the respective annual pass holder in person (including identity card).
You can cancel your annual pass subscription here.
Attention: Not every annual pass is a subscription model that is automatically renewed every year and can be canceled therefore (the word "abo" must be explicitly stated on the annual pass). Annual passes with a fixed term of 12 months cannot be canceled prematurely.
Zoo and Tierpark Berlin are in discussions with the authorities about plans for a new admissions system that uses facial recognition. Use of the system would be entirely voluntary. Once we have come to an agreement with the authorities, all annual pass holders will be informed of the details online and by mail. Until that time, annual passes will continue to be checked manually by on-site staff.

FAQs
Thank you! We hugely appreciate your commitment to the Tierpark. You can find information on all the ways to support the Tierpark here.
There is so much to see here in Europe´s biggest wildlife park! You can even ride our free electric train to explore some parts of the park on wheels. So whether you have an entire day or just a few hours a visit to Tierpark Berlin is always time well spent.
In general, visitors are not permitted to feed the animals at Tierpark Berlin. This is the job of the keepers, who know exactly what each animal should eat and what is bad for them.
No, for security reasons we unfortunately cannot store your luggage.
If you lose something during your visit to the Tierpark, you can contact us at info@
tierpark-berlin.de.
To ensure the safety of our animals and other guests, bicycles, scooters and skates must be left outside. Balance bikes and scooters (up to an age of 15 years) may be brought onto the grounds.
First of all, thank you for your honesty! Please inform someone at the entrance or send an email to info@
tierpark-berlin.de so that we can repair the damage as quickly as possible.
Of course you may take videos and photographs at Tierpark Berlin for private purposes. When doing so, please stick to the visitor paths and make sure to not use flash inside the animal houses. You may also post your pictures to your private social media accounts. Feel free to tag the official Tierpark account (@tierparkberlin) so that we can see your snapshots. Commercial use of your pictures and videos is not permitted.
Please note: For the safety of our animals, selfie sticks are not permitted.
The Tierpark is home to approximately 20,000 animals, and they are keeping our biologists and zoo keepers very busy. Please understand that they do not have the capacity to answer any questions about pets or wild animals in your care.
For veterinary reasons, we can also not accept any wild animals or pets into our care.
Since Tierpark Berlin is the largest animal park in Europe, we incur considerable costs running the Zoo. Particularly the upkeep of wild or exotic animals is very expensive. The animals need around 500,000 kg of hay and 45,000 kg of apples a year, and some of them require heated or air-conditioned habitats all year round. In addition, the cost of electricity and animal feed is constantly rising. Despite all this, our ticket prices are lower than those of zoos in many other major European cities and keep in mind that Tierpark Berlin is not only bigger but also home to a wider variety of species.
