Tiny takin switches to solids

...with a little help from his friend

The little golden takin orphan born on 21 July now has a name: Hao, which is a Chinese name meaning “good”. He and Hissar sheep Sophie now prefer to feed together, contentedly sucking at their bottles. But now it’s about time for Hao to gradually move onto solid foods. And Sophie is doing a great job in her role as adoptive big sister, teaching Hao to put his muzzle in the feeding bowl to get at the tasty feed pellets inside. That’s what friends are for!
