Kyiv Zoo says thank you

For many months now we have been in close contact with our zoo colleagues in Ukraine.

The main concerns currently facing the keepers and vets there are power outages and cold weather, but also a shortage of medication and rising food and feed costs.

Thanks to an overwhelming show of solidarity from our supporters, over the past months we have been able to raise a total of over €400,000 in donations. This enabled us to send further donations to Kyiv Zoo and the Askania-Nova nature reserve just in time for the onset of colder weather. Thanks to that money, Kyiv Zoo can now buy food for its animals – especially meat, vegetables and fruit – as well as generators, firewood and fuel that will hopefully ensure its approximately 3,000 animals make it through the next few weeks in good health.

We would like to say another big thank you to the many donors – also on behalf of Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko, who personally expressed his gratitude to Tierpark and Zoo Berlin for their ongoing support.

You can continue to donate to help the animals and people of Ukraine.
