You can practically watch our little giraffe getting bigger. Thanks to the highly nutritious milk of her mother Amalka, our baby giraffe has been growing at an astonishing rate in the first few weeks of her life – up to three centimetres per day!
Zoo and Tierpark Berlin are helping to protect these graceful mammals in the wild by supporting a conservation project in Tanzania set up by the Wild Nature Institute, whose activities include educating local communities. The researchers in Tanzania are studying the giraffes that live there in order to make effective recommendations for their protection.
