One year of our Ukraine aid campaign

Since then, we have kept in close contact with our colleagues in the country and have sent aid to several Ukrainian zoos, as well as to animal welfare and species protection projects. On 9 March 2022, our first lorry left for Kyiv carrying almost 20,000 kg of feed, and another six large deliveries followed throughout the year. Thanks to the overwhelming display of solidarity from Zoo Berlin’s visitors and friends, we have raised a total of over €400,000 in donations over the past 12 months. This has enabled us to purchase not only feed, but also generators, much-needed medical supplies, and more.
