About nine months ago, the primates were joined by some golden-handed tamarins. The diverse assortment of monkeys seem to be living in perfect harmony, with eleven-year-old Rodrigo taking on the role of a caring uncle. For example, young silvery marmoset Ralf often used to seek refuge with the white-headed saki – much to the relief of his parents.
As you can see from the video, Rodrigo is nuts about nuts! And no wonder: white-headed sakis are equipped with a strong set of teeth – sharp incisors, large canines and powerful molars – that are the ideal tools for cracking hard nutshells.
