Ambari is the first babirusa ever born at Tierpark Berlin. She and others of this threatened pig species are important ambassadors for the unique wildlife in their natural habitat, the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The island is home to numerous endemic species only found there that are in urgent need of protection. Tierpark Berlin supports important in situ work on Sulawesi as part of its Berlin World Wild conservation project.
