We would like to thank everyone for the numerous name suggestions submitted to us and to the red pandas’ sponsor, football club 1. FC Union Berlin. Susi was one of the favourite suggestions of football fans – probably because of the club’s much-loved team manager Susanne Kopplin. And our keepers also thought the name was perfect for our lovely little red panda girl.
With a bit of luck, Tierpark visitors will now be able to watch Susi exploring her home and clambering – bravely if a little clumsily – from branch to branch.
