On the occasion of World Snow Leopard Day, we are taking the opportunity to give you a sneak peek at the snow leopard habitat in the Tierpark’s new Himalayan area. It has been designed with plenty of attention to detail – including a special feature from female snow leopard Maya.
Although Maya moved to Batu Secret Zoo in Indonesia a few weeks ago on the recommendation of the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP), she has left her mark at Tierpark Berlin. During a routine veterinary examination, we were able to get impressions of her paws, and her prints will now form part of the design of the snow leopard habitat in the Himalayan area. Who knows where they might lead?
