A RARE GOAT

The Girgentana goat’s most distinctive feature is its corkscrew-shaped horns – which can grow up to 70 cm long.

Did you know that the Girgentana is considered an endangered breed? By the early 1980s it was almost extinct, but it was rescued thanks to targeted breeding. The first Girgentana goats came to the Tierpark in 1977, where they have been bred successfully ever since.
