Tracking wild animals

Animal tracking course at Tierpark Berlin

Who are the unseen inhabitants of Tierpark Berlin? Is that the trace of a wild animal on the tree bark or just an ordinary crack? Those pinecones in the forked branch of that tree – who put them there? This special Tierpark School tour answers all these questions and more.

Expert Stefanie Argow will show you how to track down the wild animals that live secretly in Tierpark Berlin. As well as pre-prepared “puzzle stops” with information about animal species from Europe and further afield, the tour will take in any and every trace of wild animal life that can be spotted – from feathers to footprints. At the end of the tour, participants even have the chance to approach a wild animal or two.

You’ll be surprised by the stories told by the traces and signs animals leave behind. The knowledge you gain will also help you spot animal tracks on your own walks through nature.
