    Concert: String quartet

    Elaia Quartett – Works by Haydn, Schostakowitsch and Brahms

    The young, up-and-coming Elaia Quartet, which is celebrated for its expressive and captivating music-making, has already performed at major international festivals.

    In addition to other awards and engagements, it won a scholarship in the final of the German Music Competition 2022 and was accepted into the German Music Council's concert funding programme, which means the musicians can now be heard in many concert series throughout Germany.

  • May

    Whitsun concerts

    Stage at Terassencafé Kakadu

    This is a free additional offer for all day and annual ticket holders.

    “Music is in the air” – this year, Tierpark Berlin will once again be holding their traditional Whitsun concerts. Make the most of the early summer by enjoying open-air music in unique surroundings. The extensive concert programme will be held throughout Whit Sunday with Dresdner Salondamen, Okay Tilda and The Big Five in a unique setting.

    Organised by the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse public savings bank

    Tierpark Berlin is once again teaming up with the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse to organise its popular Brandenburg Day. This fun-filled family event attracts a large number of visitors every year. As well as the usual attractions of Europe’s largest animal park, you can look forward to a programme of activities and various performances on the stage by the Kakadu terrace café.

    This is a free additional offer for all day and annual ticket holders.

    Tours in sign language

    Tours are adapted to the weather conditions on the day and can accommodate a maximum of ten sign language participants per tour.

    Embark on an exciting tour of Tierpark Berlin with experienced guide Daniel Meixner. Get to know the animal inhabitants in a whole new way and gain exclusive insight into everyday life at the Tierpark.

    Volvo run through the Tierpark

    Tierpark Berlin welcomes runners again this year! The 5 km and 10 km courses take participants through the unique scenery of Europe’s largest animal park, past zebras, camels and buffaloes. The circular courses start and finish in front of the famous Schloss Friedrichsfelde manor house. Back by popular demand, participants of different ages can also enter as Generation Teams – but only with an appropriate animal team name! The Himalayan adventure world can once again be explored in a sporty way at the trail run. This year, for the first time, the running festival also offers the option of a 5 km walking distance. And even little legs can compete in the Bambini and Kids’ Runs.

    Franz Trio – Works by Beethoven, Reger and Françaix

    Three young musicians from South Africa, Germany and France who met in the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and now perform regularly in Germany, France and South Africa. Founded in 2017 by Avigail Bushakevitz, Ernst-Martin Schmidt and Constance Ricard, the ensemble focuses on unjustly underperformed works from the 20th century.

    Martina Consonni – Works by Haydn, Mozart, Schumann and Schubert

    Praised for her innate musicality and tonal brilliance combined with a remarkable instrumental technique, Martina Consonni has established herself as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation. With her extraordinary musical talent, she has already won more than 55 prizes at international competitions at a young age.

    Viatores Quartett – Works by Haydn, Janáček and Dvořák

    The promising Viatores Quartet, founded at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin by Louisa Staples, Patricio Velásquez Cárdenas, K. H. Gordon Lau and Umut Saglam, won first prize and the "Prize of the Friends of Young Musicians" at the Felix Mendelssohn Competition in 2023 and has since performed regularly in Germany and throughout Europe.

    Concert: Cabaret, violin & piano

    Hercules - on the longing to be human - A special concert with cabaret artist Tina Teubner, Stephan Picard (violin) and Ben Süverkrüp (piano)

    Chamber music by Schubert, Sarasate, Webern, Franck, Purcell, Brahms, Fauré and Bach, closely interwoven with a story by Ben Süverkrüp. In view of the aggressive world situation, an evening that could not be more topical and comforting. Music has always been a weapon in the fight against inhumanity - and unlike a club, it does not bring death and destruction, but the knowledge of closeness and a sense of happiness.

    Concert: Song recital

    Alice Lackner & Imke Lichtwark – Works by Schubert, Zemlinsky, Chaminade and R. Strauss

    Alice Lackner's voice has been described by the press as "beguilingly secure, with astral heights and penetrating power" (Opera) and as "utterly enchanting" (Tagesspiegel). She works closely with the RSB under Vladimir Jurowski and with the lautten compagney under Wolfgang Katschner. They recently released a joint CD "Ernsthaft?!" (GENUIN label), on which songs by Schönberg, Zemlinsky and Daigger can be heard.

    Concert: Piano Trio

    Max Brod Trio – Works by Clara Schumann and Beethoven

    The award-winning piano trio, founded in 2005, has earned a firm place among the leading piano trios and can be heard nationally and internationally. The trio with Kerstin Straßburg (piano), Daniela Braun (violin) and Christoph Lamprecht (cello) has its artistic home in Berlin. Its particular interests include openness to new concepts and initiatives as well as unusual cultural projects.
