A slimmed-down wolf

Scientists disagree about whether the Iberian wolf is a subspecies in its own right. What we do know is that Iberian wolves are noticeably slimmer than their Eurasian relatives. They are also distinguished by the white marks on their upper lips and the dark marks on their front legs and tail.

  • Unlike other kinds of wolf, Iberian wolves do not live in large packs.
